Sentimental healthcare on smart display environment
Situation & Challenge
Seniors grew weary of repetitive rehabilitation, caregivers were overwhelmed by their workload, and guardians felt constant anxiety. An integrated system based on smart displays was needed to bridge these psychological gaps among stakeholders and address the cognitive limitations of the elderly.

Insight & Action
Instead of presenting raw numerical data, an Ambient UI was implemented by adopting an "aquarium" metaphor, allowing technology to blend naturally into the background of daily life.
- Emotional Data Transformation: Heart rate and spatial data are visualized through the activity and growth status of fish. This enables users to recognize their health status intuitively without a separate learning curve.
- Gamification for Motivation: Repetitive upper-body rehabilitation exercises were transformed into an engaging "game" to foster voluntary participation.
- Accessibility Optimization: Menu depth was minimized for seniors, and a 360-degree interface was developed for physical usability in diverse environments.

Resolution & Value
1. Voluntary Rehabilitation via Emotional Engagement (User Value)
We drastically reduced the cognitive load on elderly users by transforming complex medical data into "living visual objects," such as fish growth and aquarium conditions. This approach redefined the clinical treatment process into a joyful, voluntary activity, realizing a model for sustainable rehabilitation motivation.
2. Proprietary Interaction Logic based on Data-to-Object Mapping (System & IP Value)
I designed an original interaction algorithm that synchronizes a user’s real-time biometric data and rehabilitation performance 1:1 with visual parameters, including fish movement, size, and water turbidity. This demonstrates the strategic design capability to translate sophisticated technology into intuitive user value and further bridge it to proprietary Intellectual Property (IP) assets.
3. Ambient UI Integrated into Daily Life (Design Value)
We eliminated the clinical intimidation and psychological pressure typically associated with medical devices. By allowing technology to blend naturally into the "background" of a user’s life, we realized a future-proof healthcare experience that minimizes psychological resistance.
